1. 1. Before first use, bathe the yantra in raw milk, then in clean water, and dry every tier completely with a soft cloth
2. 2. Install on a Friday, or on a Diwali, Navratri or Akshaya Tritiya morning, after your bath and before eating
3. 3. Place it on a red cloth, apply kumkum and a few grains of akshat rice at the base, and light a ghee lamp beside it
4. 4. Offer lotus or red flowers, a little sugar or kheer, and incense; water may be kept in a small copper vessel in front
5. 5. Chant Om Shreem Hreem Shreem Kamale Kamalalaye Praseed Praseed one hundred and eight times using a lotus-seed or rudraksha mala
6. 6. Keep up a Friday lamp and mantra offering, and wipe the tiers with a dry cloth; ghee smoke settles in the grooves and darkens them first

The Shree Yantra is built from nine interlocking triangles: four pointing upward for Shiva and the still, masculine principle, and five pointing downward for Shakti and the active, feminine one. Their overlap generates forty-three smaller triangles around a central bindu, which in Sri Vidya practice stands for the undivided point from which the whole diagram unfolds. The Meru form raises those circuits into a stepped pyramid, so the yantra is read as the cosmic mountain Meru seen from outside rather than as a plan drawn on paper.
