- Ganesha with both consorts — Riddhi and Siddhi flank the deity, the grouping that makes up the household form of Ganapati rather than the solitary seated one.
- Substantial at 650 grams — The heaviest idol in this range, with the mass and footprint of a proper mandir centrepiece.
- 4.4 inches across a three-figure composition — The height and width allow each figure its own posture and ornament.
- Worshipped as a complete blessing — Tradition reads Riddhi as material sufficiency and Siddhi as spiritual attainment, and the two are invoked together by those seeking balance between them.
- Suited to offices and receptions — The weight and scale hold up in a reception area or a shop altar where a small idol would be lost.
- Face the composition north or east, with the devotee seated facing the same way during puja.
- The north-east of the puja room is the traditional quarter; in a shop or office, the north or east wall of the reception.
- At 650 grams this needs a solid wooden or stone chowki rather than a light shelf. Keep it at seated chest height or above.
- Keep it away from the bathroom wall, the underside of a staircase, footwear and any storage of leather goods.
- Lamp soot settles in the spaces between the three figures. Clean them with a soft brush; brass darkens with regular puja and need not be polished bright.
- 1. Before installation, bathe the murti in clean water and then panchamrit, rinse it and dry it fully.
- 2. Place it on a red cloth on a firm chowki and light a ghee lamp and incense.
- 3. Offer durva grass in bunches of three blades, red hibiscus or marigold, sindoor, and set a whole coconut before the murti.
- 4. Chant Om Gam Ganapataye Namah, traditionally 108 times. Households that worship the three figures together often follow it with the Ganapati Atharvashirsha.
- 5. Wednesday is Ganesha's day; Ganesh Chaturthi is the traditional day to install the murti and begin regular worship.
- 6. Offer twenty-one modak or laddoo, the customary count for Ganapati, then perform the aarti and distribute prasad.
Riddhi and Siddhi appear in the Puranas as the two consorts given to Ganesha by Brahma, and the names are usually read as prosperity and attainment. In the household form of the deity he is shown seated between them, sometimes with the two sons Shubha and Labha, and this three-figure grouping is the one most often installed in family mandirs and shops. A single seated Ganesha is the form for a threshold or a desk; the Riddhi Siddhi grouping is the form for a home.
